Alternative supplements for Glaucoma
Glaucoma is characterised by an increase in pressure of the fluid within the eyeball and hardening of the surface of the eyeball. Changes to nerve fibres and blood vessels in the eye may contribute to inner eye pressure and prevent the eye fluid from leaving the eye. Treatment for glaucoma is aimed at reducing this inner eye pressure and improving collagen metabolism (a protein necessary for the formation of connective tissue).
Diet and Lifestyle
Decrease meat and dairy products; move towards a largely vegetarian diet with cold-water fish and eggs. Increase fresh fruit and vegetables to 5 servings daily. A 30-minute brisk walk every day may also help reduce eye pressure.
