Blepharitis
Belpharitis is a condition of the eye like dandruff. The eyelids become inflamed. This is caused by a combination of the secretions and the bacteria (which everyone carries) on the eyelids.
The oil needs to be cleaned away by regular warm bathing.
Blepharitis Treatment
First wash your hands. Boil one pint of water and allow to cool. Using a cotton bud dipped in the cooled boiled water, gently rub the edges of the lids until the skin scales between the eye lashes have gone. With a cotton bud, brush gently away from the nose to the side of the face along the upper and lower eyelids.
If you are prescribed ointment then place only a little on the tip of your finger and rub it thoroughly into the roots of your lashes. This should be done twice a day or as directed by your doctor.
